The president of the Caf U-20 Africa Cup of Nations Organising Committee Amadou Diakite has arrived in Zambia along with other three senior officials.
Diakite arrived in Zambia on Sunday, 19 February 2017 at 12h25 aboard a South African Airways flight in the company of Caf Executive Committee Member Anjorin Moucharafou (Benin) who is also a member of the Organising Committee and General Coordinators Baba Malephane (Lesotho) and Sidio Jose Mugadza (Mozambique).
“We have been received here at the airport by the president of Faz Andrew Kamanga and we are very happy with the way he has welcomed us. We are here because we are confident that Zambia is going to host a good 2017 Caf U-20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament," said Diakite.
“Since Caf gave Zambia the rights to host the tournament, we have been here several times and we have been completely satisfied of the readiness and the ability of Zambia to host the tournament.
“The tournament being held in Zambia is very special because all the best teams will be here and because of that we are looking forward to a very good tournament."
The welcome party for the Caf officials was spiced up with dances by Zambian traditional dance troupes at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport.
