Zambia wound up its Group A action with a resounding 3-1 win over Egypt to maintain a perfect record at the ongoing Total U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
Beston Chambeshi’s side is the only unbeaten side at the tournament and ran riot even with a top place finish guaranteed.
Egypt had stunned Zambia in the 35th minute when Karim Hassan hit the back of the net with a well placed low shot.
The Zambian bench reached for the panic buttons and threw in Emmanuel Banda just within a minute of half time for Chrispine Sakulanda.
It was however Daka who levelled the scores in the 48th minute with an acrobatic finish from a Fashion Sakala assist.
With the crowd rallying behind the team it was not a surprise that Sakala headed powerfully from an inch perfect Enock Mwepu cross in the 73rd minute.
Daka completed his double in the 90th minute when he powered home from another of the Mwepu trademark crosses.
Coach Beston Chambeshi had no apologies for fielding a strong side against desperate for points Egypt.
Chambeshi said that he wanted the team to maintain team’s rhythm going into the semi finals.
Egypt coach Gamal Abdelaziz said his side was unlucky to have given up the lead to lose 3-1 to Zambia.
In the other Group A match Guinea beat Mali 3-2 to make it to the semi finals.
Zambia will wait for Sunday’s matches to know which team they will face in the semi finals on Wednesday.
