U20 come tops in Dynamos test

The Zambia U-20 Men’s National Team tested themselves against Super Division side Lusaka Dynamos drawing two all in the first match and winning the second contest 2-0.

Coach Beston Chambeshi is walking his side in the final phase of practice at home with only 19 players from the current 29 in camp making the trip to South Korea.

The final two slots to make the final 21 will be left to FC Liefering striker Patson Daka and Spartak Moscow’s Fashion Sakala.

Chambeshi fielded his fall back squad in the first match with Boniface Muchindu and Harrison Chisala on target.

Lusaka Dynamos got their goals through Potipher Zulu and Maybin Chsihimba to leave the score at 2-all.

In the second match Chambeshi rolled his regular side that matched up to the Super Division challenge with Boyd Musonda and Conlyde Luchanga on target.

Upfront Luchanga was leading the lines with Enock Mwepu taking up a place behind him while Edward Chilufya took up the left wing with Musonda in the holding midfield role.

The backline was familiarly lined up with skipper Solomon Sakala partnered with Moses Nyondo while Shemmy Mayembe and Prosper Chiluya took up the wing back positions.

The team has a Spain outing on the cards before heading to South Korea for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea Republic 2017.

Zambia is in Group C alongside Portugal, Costa Rica and Iran.

The opening match is against Portugal on May 21 at Jeju World Cup Stadium.


Zesco United leaped to the top of the MTN/FAZ Super Division table with a 1-0 away win to Nakambala Leopards in a rescheduled week two league fixture.

Fackson Kapumba made sure of the three points with a 45th minute strike that shot Zesco United to the summit of the table with nine points.

Zesco has accumulated maximum points having beaten Konkola Blades 2-1 in a week one fixture before sweeping aside Nchanga Rangers 4-1 in a week three match.

The Ndola outfit’s next fixture is against Nkana on Sunday.
