Zambia senior women national team coach Charles Bwale has announced his squad of 21 players for the African Women Championship to be hosted by Namibia from October 11.
Zambia, placed in Group A along with hosts Namibia, Ivory Coast and Nigeria, will play the opening match of the competition against Namibia at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on October 11.
Zambia’s second match is scheduled for Tuesday, October 14 against Nigeria at the same venue while the third and final group stage match against Ivory Coast is scheduled for Independence Stadium.
All of Zambia’s group stage matches are scheduled to start at 18h00 Central African Time.
To prepare for the finals tournament Zambia hosted South Africa and Cameroon in friendly matches in Lusaka. They lost 4 – 0 to the former and played two matches with the latter losing 2-0 in the first match played at Woodlands Stadium on October 1 before recording a goalless draw in the second played at Nkoloma Stadium on October 4.
