Zambia’s Caf Confederation Cup envoys Zesco United continued to fly high on the continental stage and reached playoff stage after drawing two all away to Les Messager Ngozi of Burundi to win 4-2 on aggregate over two legs.
Zesco United set a high bar for themselves last year after having reached the semi finals of the Champions League.
Ngozi had seemed set to launch a credible fight back when in the 49th minute were put ahead Emock Sabumukana but the lead lasted only 13 minutes as Jackson Were responded for the Zesco United to level matters.
Abdoul Amini restored the lead for Ngozi in the 73rd minute but David Owino made sure of Zesco’s cruise in 90th minute to take the score to two all.
Zesco had made good of their home tie having won 2-0 easing the task away from home.
In the next stage Zesco United will wait to hear their opponents when the draw is done.
