Nkana head coach Zeddy Saileti believes that good preparation and hard work will be key factors if his team is to defeat Zesco United in the 2017 Samuel Zoom Ndhlovu Charity Shield final scheduled for the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Sunday.
In his first competitive match as head coach, Saileti masterminded a 3-0 victory over league champions Zanaco thanks to goals by Walter Bwalya, Ronald Kampamba and Joseph Musonda.
His side will now face Zesco United in Charity Shield final, and while the 48 year old has vivid memories of last season's 4-3 league victory over the Ndola-based side, he said last year’s league runners-up and Champions League semi-finalists were not to be underrated.
"We cannot dwell on what we did last season. This is another year and both teams have made some changes. We just have to focus on current events," said Saileti.
"We need to prepare well because Zesco United is not Zanaco. It is going to be a different ball game. We all know how they play. We just have to work hard and see what happens.
"We have a 90% chance of winning, it's normal. Any team can win in the final. Anything can happen."
Zesco United are expected to field a weakened side after striker Jackson Mwanza was ruled out due to injury and Idriss Mbombo as well as combative midfielder Misheck Chaila both picked up injuries in Thursday's 4-2 victory over Power Dynamos.
Coach Krmpotic will also have one eye on next weekend's Caf Confederation Cup match with Enugu Rangers and might therefore not want to take a risk with his key players against Nkana.
But the Serbian told supersport.com that his side will play to win the Charity Shield.
"I like to play offensive football from the first whistle to the last minute," he said.
"After this final we travel to Nigeria to play Enugu Rangers. For us that is the priority."
