Zesco United striker Jackson Mwanza has been ruled out of the Samuel Zoom Ndhlovu Charity Shield final after he picked up an injury in his team's 4-2 semi-final victory over Power Dynamos on Thursday.
Mwanza was replaced by Idriss Mbombo in the 19th minute after he appeared to have twisted his right ankle when he attempted an effort at the top of the box in an earlier challenge with Hichani Himonde.
The club's official website said Mwanza had suffered a soft tissue injury.
"Team doctor Marlon Mwiinga says striker Jackson Mwanza suffered a soft tissue injury in yesterdays (Thursday's) charity shield semi-final match against Power Dynamos and is not likely to feature in Sunday's final against Nkana, " read a statement on zescounitedfc.com.
The website also reported that the extent of Mbombos injury had yet not been determined as he was still being examined by the club's medical team. The Congolese forward was replaced by his countryman Patrick Kongolo after he limped of the field of play with three minutes remaining on the clock.
Zesco United are however expected to have Simon Silwimba available after the right winger recovered from a groin injury and had resumed normal training.
