City of Lusaka announce squad for 2017 season

Newly promoted City of Lusaka have announced a 35-man squad for the 2017 MTN FAZ Super League.

Although a list containing 34 players was released to supersport.com on Monday, the club's Media and Public Relations Officer Alex Basopo Njobvu said the transfer of the unlisted player had not yet been concluded but that he was expected to join them soon because he had been registered with the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) under City of Lusaka.

"We have a total of 35 players whom we registered with FAZ last week. The one who is not listed is Gregory Sanjase. He has been training with us and featured in two of our pre-season friendly matches with Kabwe Warriors before he returned to his former club. He is expected to join us any day from Luanshya United," said Njobvu.

Elijah Chikwanda's squad has several new arrivals with five having joined from his immediate former club, Lusaka Dynamos.

Edward Chimfwembe, Bwalya Mutale, Thomas Mbolela, Shadreck Mayembe and Patient Ikamba Ngobila were all signed on one-year loan deals from Lusaka Dynamos.
