Zanaco Football Club assistant coach Dabid Chilufya has decried his team's failure to convert chances into goals when playing at home in the 2017 Caf Champions League.
Zanaco played out barren draws in their preliminary and first round home matches with APR (Rwanda) and Young Africans (Tanzania), scoring twice in four matches to eliminate their opponents on away goals.
"For sure we are not doing very fine when we play at home, but when we play away we are doing fine. We are trying to change that so that do well away and also at home,” Chilufya said.
“We only scored one against APR and we only scored one in Tanzania; here it ended 0-0. That shows we are struggling in front of goal.
"But qualifying for the group stage gives us a chance to put our heads together so that we make sure we have a good striking force that can be free scoring like we had last year.”
Zanaco are yet to score at home in this year's champions league and Chilufya believes that the team has enough time to work on improving home performance before they play their first group match during the weekend of 12-14 May.
